Cressey & Son, Inc. has been family-owned and operated since September of 1979. The business was started by Churchill Cressey and his son, George Cressey, who sold buses out of the Churchill's home in the lower village of Kennebunk. In the early 1980's, we opened a small office on Main Street in Kennebunk. From there, the business grew and we moved to our current location with an office, drive-through service bays and a full parts warehouse. Churchill Cressey passed away in January 1991, shortly after we were named DISTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR by Thomas Built Buses. Brian Cressey joined the business in August of 2004, becoming the third-generation at W.C. Cressey and Son, Inc. We have survived the ups and downs of the past 30 years by dedicating ourselves to customer service, making our customers' businesses our business, and by conducting business honestly, ethically, and the way it has always been conducted throughout small towns in Northern New England. We are now pleased to say that we have served the transportation needs of our customers in Northern New England for 30 years. We have been a proud distributor of the leading school bus manufacturer in the world, Thomas Built Buses, Inc. for the entire time. Our present office and service building is 4,500 square feet and the attached warehouse is over 4,000 square feet. We employ twelve full-time employees and six part-time seasonal employees. BUSES ARE ALL THAT WE DO! YOUR BUS WILL NEVER BE TAKEN OUT OF THE GARAGE FOR A MORE EXPENSIVE TRUCK OR OTHER PIECE OF EQUIPMENT!!! BUSINESS W.C. Cressey & Son, Inc. is an authorized dealer of Thomas Built Buses. Our Company sells primarily school buses through State contracts and individual district purchases both for the states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Our customer base includes school districts and contractors, private schools, YMCAs, head start programs, nursing homes, retirement communities, as well as state agencies and districts funded through the Federal Transportation Administration. Buses are both stocked or ordered specificall for customers each according to their own requirements. OTHER LINES: We also serve as a dealer for several lines which enhance the buses that we sell and service. As with Thomas/Freightliner lines, we also stock and sell parts, service and aid in the warranty process for the following manufacturers: We are a dealer of Webasto Products. Webasto is a manufacturer of temperature control products for buses. Webasto makes the TSL-17 and Scholastic Series Fuel Fired Heaters which we install and service on buses.
